Since the beginning of Studio Kurtycz we have been making book-printing workshops both for adults and children. In the practice we found out that printing was a powerful activity to address different topics (social and environmental) with particular public (school children, children living in the street, women in difficult situations, community workers, educators, etc.).
In 2008 we formalized the methodology “Print ‘n’ Book” to use book printing as an educational tool. Since then, we have been designing and implementing tailor made printing interventions.
In Africa (where Studio Kurtycz had its activities during seven years) we made book-printing workshops going from the elaboration of texts and illustrations, to the final binding. The idea: to develop critical thinking around a particular topic through a group activity, having something concrete (a book in this case) at the end of the day.
If you want to know more about these activities, or you are interested to have a “Print ‘n’ Book” workshop for a particular public, please contact us.
